Trade Support Loan (TSL)
Is a re-payable loan, paid to Australian Apprentices who are working in a trade identified on the Trade Support Loan Priority List.
Up to $20,000 over 4 years duration or duration of the Apprenticeship.
Youth Allowance, Austudy and ABSTUDY
Australian Apprentices may also be eligible to access fortnightly payments delivered by Centrelink:
- Youth Allowance for Australian Apprentices aged 16-24
- Austudy for Australian Apprentices aged 25 and over
- ABSTUDY for Australian Apprentices of any age who are Indigenous Australians

Living Away from Home Allowance
Assists eligible individuals remain or commence in an Australian Apprentice if they have moved away from their parental or legal guardian’s home for the first time.
1st yr $77.17 per week
2nd yr $38.59 per week
3rd year $25 per week.

Support for Australian Apprentices with Disability
Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS)
Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS) is an Australian Government incentive payable to an employer who employs an Australian Apprentice who satisfies the disability eligibility criteria in an Australian Apprenticeship.

This wage support is also available to an employer who employs an Australian Apprentice who becomes disabled during their apprenticeship or traineeship. Pro rata per employment status. Up to $104.30 per week.
Employment Assistance Fund
The Employment Assistance Fund helps people with disability and mental health condition by providing financial assistance to purchase a range of work related modifications and services if they are starting a job or currently working, as well as those who require assistance to find and prepare for work. Up to $5,000.
Tutorial, Interpreter & Mentor Assistance
Tutorial, interpreter and mentor services are available to Australian Apprentices who have been assessed as eligible for DAAWS and who require additional assistance with their off-the-job training.
This form of assistance is payable only to the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in respect of an Australian Apprentice eligible for DAAWS where the Australian Apprentice is experiencing difficulty with the off-the-job training component of their Australian Apprenticeship because of that disability.
The Occupational Assessment supports the provision of additional assistance and the RTO proposes specific additional assistance related to off-the-job training.
Payments for these services are made directly to the RTO providing or facilitating the service.
Up to $5,000 per year.

Eligibility criteria apply to all incentives and allowances. Australian and State Government incentives and allowances can be varied at any time without notice. All incentives have a 12 month claimable period from the date the incentive payment is made available.
