If you catch yourself thinking about, and dreading, work on a Sunday afternoon, stop yourself according Elizabeth Cutajar, psychologist at Sarina Russo Job Access.
Cutajar said ask yourself 'Why am I dreading work tomorrow?' and 'Will thinking about it now, help whatever it is I am fearing?'
"Remind yourself that spending your Sunday thinking about what you need to get done, or how little you want to go back to work, won't remove the fact that you have work tomorrow. But it will guarantee one thing: it will start to interfere with your Sunday afternoon enjoyment."
The key is to be in the present and focus on what you are doing now and enjoy it.
We associate Monday with a negative connotation as it is the start of the working week," she says. But Monday is only one day, so take it a day at a time.
Write a list of tasks for the day and number them to help prioritise. Cross each task off as you complete them.
But, most importantly, give yourself something to look forward to at the end of the day when you leave work.
