100 guests of James Cook University Brisbane waited patiently for Federal for Industry, Innovation and Science Minister, Christopher Pyne to personally autograph their copy of his book ‘A Letter To My Children’
Former Queensland Premier Peter Beattie officially launched the book and agreed with its central premise why do seemingly intelligent men and women leave their families to spend more than half the year travelling to Canberra and spend night after night at electorate and campaign events? Surely there are easier ways to earn a living.
Pyne, a father of four children, told the audience he wrote A Letter To My Children as a candid account of how a belief in the power of public service, inspired by his crusading opthalmologist father, led him to pursue a career in politics, driven by the ambition of leaving a legacy for the next generation.
Christopher Pyne is an inspirational man. He's funny, personable and his book explains why it's so important in life to give back, Sarina said in her vote-of-thanks.
