WorldSkills Youth Forum to spark Geelong electrical apprentices success

Sarina Russo Apprenticeships congratulates our Geelong electrical apprentice Hannah Terry for her selection as one of only two Australian ambassadors at an international world skills youth forum this month.

Hannah and her employer Gforce were recently featured in an article in the Geelong Advertiser  . . .

The electrical instrumentation apprentice, who is employed by Gforce and hosted by Viva Energy, will represent Australia at the 44th WorldSkills Youth Forum in Abu Dhabi this October.

Build your workforce with a great apprentice

Gforce chief executive officer Rob Birch said Ms Terry was awarded a scholarship to participate in the WorldSkills Youth Forum last year and will join 300 young professionals from 70 different countries.

“We are immensely proud of Hannah and know that she will demonstrate the same exceptional work ethic at the forum as she shows at Viva Energy’s Geelong refinery every day,” Mr Birch said.

“She is an inspiration to young people considering a trade apprenticeship and is proof that an apprenticeship can take you all over the world and offer amazing opportunities,” he said.

Ms Terry was selected to represent Australia after winning a gold medal win at the 2016 WorldSkills national competition. She won the mechatronics category.

Ms Terry said she was excited to attend the upcoming WorldSkills event in Abu Dhabi.

“I knew when I decided to become an apprentice that I could really make something of it and the possibilities would be unlimited,” Ms Terry said.
