Helping you into long-term employment

WORKPLACE SUPPORT

Settling into a new job can be difficult, especially if you’ve been out of work for a long time. We make sure you have a dedicated consultant for at least 6 months after you start work to make sure you have the support you need, when you need it. We’ll regularly check in with you via phone, online or workplace visits, whichever you prefer, to see how you’re doing.

If you find yourself overwhelmed by the demands of your new job, you can contact your Sarina Russo Job Access employment consultant directly for help with whatever the challenge might be. Our team of allied health professionals are also there to support you with any physical or mental health challenges you might be experiencing.

You can also access our Help Centre for useful tips on staying in work.

Our support continues well after you’ve landed the job!

HOW WE CAN HELP

In addition to ongoing check-ins from your employment consultant, we can help you, or your employer, access a range of services and financial incentives to promote the best possible outcomes for you both. Depending on your individual circumstances, these might include:

  • Financial support for work related expenses when you start work
  • Wage subsidy assistance to financially support your employer
  • Working with your employer to ensure they can provide any support you need in the workplace

Keeping your job when circumstances change

WORK ASSIST

Work Assist is designed to keep you in your job if illness, injury or disability puts you at risk of losing your job. When circumstances change, we can work with your employer and explore options to:

  • Redesign your job or the tasks you do so you can keep working
  • Make changes to your workplace, including specialist equipment, to accommodate your needs
  • Interventions such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pain management or psychological counselling

To apply, you need to have worked an average of 8 hours a week over a consecutive 13 week period and be at risk of losing your job because of your medical circumstances.
