Millions of students worldwide have had their learning disrupted since the pandemic hit the world in early 2020. With the world adjusting to a new reality, educators have emerged as the unsung heroes, adapting and changing delivery modes to provide effective student learning.

Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate, recognise and thank our educators for their continuous hard work, enthusiasm and efforts. They have shown resilience, versatility and determination, and without them, our students would not have continued to reap the benefits of high-quality education.

JCU Brisbane Lecturer Vizak Gagrat is one of many educators who has gone the extra mile during this period to help students succeed, ignite their passion and build self-confidence.

“I became an educator because I enjoy changing lives and watching my students grow professionally and personally. I follow this mantra for my educational practice, as quoted by Confucius: ‘Education breeds confidence, confidence breeds hope, hope breeds peace’,” said Vizak Gagrat.

Not all heroes wear capes, and without our excellent teaching team, we would not be in the position we are today. Thank you teachers and happy World Teachers’ Day!
